Mission Statement
Marion Cares, Inc. is a faith based organization serving the needs of families and children in Marion, Iowa. The primary purpose of Marion Cares, Inc. is to address academics, technology, education, recreation, moral guidance, and family and social needs for the families and children in Marion.
HistoryBusiness owners in Marion knew that there were areas of town which had higher than average rates for all criminal offenses. These communities also contained apartment complexes with a high level of families and children. A group came together to determine “what can we do?” In July, 2007, Marion Cares, Inc. was started in the Azure apartment complex, in the Linn-Mar School District area of Marion. Services started with a kick-off Block Party, and have continued to grow since the program’s inception. A variety of activities are currently provided or will be available this year through Marion Cares, Inc. Current services are provided at the Azure apartments site, and all services will be expanded to the Grandview Apartments site this year. |
